Meet our Team

Lucy joined Wayland Academy as Principal in 2024, this is her third headship. She has worked for Inspiration Trust in 2017 as Subject Specialist Lead for Chemistry and helped write the primary and secondary science curriculum and teacher training course. 

She was motivated to become a teacher from a young age when she learnt the joy that comes with helping someone to understand something they previously struggled with or didn't know. Since becoming a teacher she has held a number of roles in schools and worked in a range of schools across Norfolk and Suffolk. In addition to teaching she has written or contributed to two science curriculums, two science teacher training programmes, two published papers on Lesson Study, three published textbooks and a range of internal textbooks still in use in the Trust schools. She has also written papers for the government on the science curriculum, sat on panels and reference groups to share best practice and insights across the sector.

Twenty plus years into teaching Lucy remains passionate about the power of education to change lives and through education ensure we are constantly seeking impactful solutions to the challenges faced by our young people today to help them succeed and thrive.
