Exam & Key Stage Results

Our 2019 GCSE results showed continued improvement with 55% of students achieving a 9-4 grade in English and maths. 37% of students achieved a grade 9-5 in English and maths. 


The Progress 8 Score for 2019 was -0.36. This score shows how much progress pupils at this school made between the end of Key Stage 2  (KS2) and the end of Key Stage 4 (KS4), compared to pupils across England who got similar results at the end of KS2. 


The Attainment 8 score was 36.48 in 2019. School gained a score based on how well pupils have performed in up to eight qualifications, which include English, maths, three English Baccalaureate qualifications including sciences, computer science, history, geography and languages, and three other additional approved qualifications. 

  • 9-5 in English and maths: In 2019, 37% of students achieved a 9-5 in both English and maths (22% in 2018).
  • 9-4 in English and maths: In 2019, 55% of students achieved a 9-4 in both English and Maths. (42% in 2018).


94 pupils were achieving EBacc at end of key stage 4 in 2019. 4% of pupils achieved EBacc at grade 5 or above and 9% of pupils achieved EBacc at grade 4 or above.


The English Baccalaureate is not a test or qualification, it is a measure used to provide information about a particular range of qualifications. A pupil is considered to have ‘achieved’ the English Baccalaureate if they got a grade 4 or better in the following subjects: English, maths, sciences, a language and either history or geography.


The latest record from 2019 shows that 96% of students stayed in education or entered employment after leaving the academy.
